ZoomIt – On Screen Annotation for Better Presentations

ZoomIt is a great tool to zoom in screen, make it more visible as you give presentation. With ZoomIt, you can zoom in on any area of your desktop with your mouse and keyboard shortcuts to highlight important points. It also allows you to draw on the desktop screen or the presentation material directly for quick explanation. ZoomIt also includes a break timer feature that remains active even when you tab away from the timer window and allows you to return to the timer window by clicking on the ZoomIt tray icon.

You can download the ZoomIt from http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ZoomIt.zip. It is a free and easy to use tool. Simply unzip and run it. The first time you run ZoomIt it presents a configuration dialog that let’s you specify alternate hotkeys for zooming and for entering drawing mode without zooming, and customize the drawing pen color and size. After that, it will stay at the system tray ready to be use anytime.

How to use ZoomIt

  • To start using it press Ctrl + 1.
  • To use pen – just click and hold on your mouse left button.
  • To draw a line – press Shift and use your mouse left button.
  • To draw a rectangle  – press Ctrl and use your mouse left button.
  • To draw an arrow – press both Ctrl and Shift and mouse left button.
  • To undo – press Ctrl + Z.
  • To copy a zoomed screen – Ctrl + C.
  • To save a zoomed screen – Ctrl + S.
  • To exit – right mouse click or press Esc.
