Following the trend of desktop applications going online, Yahoo! launches their own web based instant messaging. Yahoo web based messenger is develop based on Flash 9 technology and you’re required to have a flash plugin installed if you want to use Yahoo web based messenger.

At this moment, Yahoo web based messenger will include basic functionality and integration with MSN Messenger. This mean user able to add MSN / Live messenger contact list. As a result of the deal signed last year between Microsoft and Yahoo! to allow interoperability between their respective messaging networks. Yahoo’s web messenger will saves all your conversations and makes the history searchable from the same interface. Meanwhile, Yahoo claim that VOIP features will be added in the near future.

As for now, you can enjoyed watching the video preview that Yahoo! prepared to learn about this new online web messenger, and of course, sign in and try it out if you already have a Yahoo! ID.

I’m not really a fan of Yahoo! Messenger but this definitely a good news for Yahoo IM users.
