ADVERTISEMENTS
xtimeline is a website that allows you to create, share and explore timelines. Timeline, commonly known as a timetable can be a very intuitive description of a certain kind of activities or events are going through a process.
Why timelines?
We think modern society is awash in information, and we need better ways to organize it. Timelines are a great way to visualize how a series of events are related. Thanks to computers, timelines are no longer static and paper-bound — our timelines are interactive and can contain pictures, videos, music, and links to more information.
Why make a site just for timelines?
Making a dynamic timeline widget isn’t enough — you need to have a place to create, store, and share them with other people. We like to think of xtimeline as a cross between Wikipedia and YouTube. Like all user-generated content sites, you can upload your own thoughts, media, and opinions. Eventually, we think some timelines will become well-known enough to be online references.

Main features of xtimeline:
- Explore Timeline – find timelines through community-based rating, categories, tag, and search.
- Create Timeline – create timelines on topics that you are passionate about.
- Share Timeline – share your timelines with friends. You can embed your timeline in you blog or website.
- Discuss Timeline – leave comments on timelines and events.
With xtimeline, you can create timelines of your favorite topics. While creating a timeline, you can upload pictures from your computer or paste your image links from flickr or Photobucket. For the moment, xtimeline does not have the ability to upload videos directly to the site. You can upload your videos to YouTube, Metacafe or Photobucket, then paste the embed code into xtimeline. You can even embed the xtimeline widget into your social networking websites or blogs. There are privacy settings where you can control who to view, edit and comment on your timeline.

Making a timeline is a unique way of expressing yourself and sharing your knowledge with the world. To learn more about our site, please take the tour.
