WinSock XP Fix is a free utility to make a backup of parts of your windows registry, reset TCP/IP settings, replace existing Winsock2 registry entries with default, replace Hosts file with a default.

Occasionally your internet connection will stop working after running any of the Spyware cleanup tools such as SpyBot - Search & Destroy or Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition due to invalid or removed registry entries. On the “Winsock and TCP Repair Utility” screen, there are ‘Fix‘ and ‘ReG-Backup‘ button. Fix button is to restores your registry and settings to default state. ReG-Backup is backup parts of your Windows registry.

I’ve tested it on a computer having WinSock network issues caused by corruption after some Adware removal, the connectivity was restored after the run Winsock XP Fix and rebooting. It only tooks about 10 seconds to fix the problem. A great small program, easy to use, no installation.
