UltraDefrag – Open Source Disk Defragmenter

UltraDefrag is an open source defragmentation tool for Windows. The defragmention is done by kernel-mode driver and it is very fast, faster than the Windows defragmenter. UltraDefrag supports full defragmentation and space compacting.

You can use the filters to include/exclude files or folders based on the expressions that match file names (incl. path) or size (Kb | Mb | Gb | Tb) that you want to defragment.

UltraDefrag comes with three interfaces:

  • Graphical – the GUI represents your filesystem visually as a color coded cluster map.
  • Console – is an option for those that prefer the command line. It is also allows you to run UltraDefrag from the task scheduler and scripts.
  • Native – the native executable will run at boot time in a manner similar to chkdsk.
