Trailfire is a Firefox and IE extension which allows you to easily create ‘trails’ through the web. Trailfire enables you to discover the web through the expertise of others. Follow a trail and find what you need. Or share your own expertise by making a trail of web pages.
Trailfire provides a unique new method for collaborative discovery on the Web. With this addon and Firefox you mark pages that you find interesting by leaving notes right there on page. These notes are linked together into trails that you organize any way you want.
TrailFire, the bookmarking tool that lets you leave notes on web pages to create a trail. TrailFire consists of a note button for leaving marks and a sidebar for managing your trails. To create a mark, click the mark button
and a mark will be added to the page you are looking at, add whatever you want and click save. You can also resize the mark and drag it to wherever you like on the page. All pages with the same trail title will become part of that trail.

Trailfire also enables you to blog it, send it to your friends, publish it to Trailfire’s own service, or even post it to popular social networks like MySpace.
TrailFire is all about creating your own slice of the web and sharing it with others. I like the idea of the making the web a social medium for discovery, commentary and sharing. Anyone can read Trailfire notes and follow trails without a browser add-on. But to create a trail, you will need the Trailfire software.
Download and install the TrailFire extension from the TrailFire Download page to make your own trails and discover others’ while browse. You will need to Join Trailfire to leave comments and rate to trails.
