PalTalk, A Video chat Instant Messenger that rolling out version 9.0 client. The Paltalk Messenger program is available in a free, banner-supported format as well as an ad-free version that requires users to subscribe. PalTalk have claim there is more over four million active members on their services and have hundreds of chat rooms categorized by topics such as religion, politics, and technology, with subcategories narrowing them down even further.

PalTalk provides standard IM features and a kind of IM services that allow access to several thousand video-enabled chat rooms in which users can interact one-on-one or with large groups of people simultaneously. Additional, PalTalk also integrate with other IM like AIM, Yahoo!, and ICQ, but distinguishes itself by throwing video and chat rooms into the mix.

The release of PalTalk 9.0 makes the IM features even better which they call it as ” Super IM “. enabling up to nine people to join in a live video and voice chat session.You view video feeds of your friend’s webcams on a strip running along the top of the window, like the one above. From the strip, you can break out and expand a video feed for a closer look. Such a rich chatting experience may prove hectic for most users used to carrying on multiple conversations, but the ability to switch your focus and audio feed between windows helps control the chaos.

There is difference between PalTalk pay version and free version, Which the video quality is greater on pay version (Paltalk x-treme). While the free version is display user snapshots only on the video quality. Furthermore, while the second-tier version displays video at about half the frame-rate of x-treme, but for $39.95 per year.
