OpenDNS – Respond DNS queries quicker

OpenDNS, a free client side DNS caching service that does not require any kind of external software. Not only does OpenDNS speed up your internet connection, it has anti-phishing and domain name typo correction features. With OpenDNS you can totally benefit from more reliable and faster DNS servers and queries.

By default without any configuration, your computer automatically assign using DNS servers provided by your ISP which are commonly overused and slow. With OpenDNS you are no longer tied to using your ISPs slow DNS servers, whenever you access a website your computer first will contacts a domain name server (DNS) to find out what server IP address is paired with that particular domain name.

As Chris Pirilio point out

you can experience anywhere from 50 milliseconds to a second or more when dealing with slow DNSs before your computer can interact with the actual website.

Using OpenDNS is simple, you can see a complete setting list on this page and follow the two simple step to change your computer or network devices, another ways is just change your DNS to below:-

Preferred DNS: 208.67.222.222

Alternate DNS: 208.67.220.220
