Microsoft just released a network diagnostics tool on 26 july for Windows XP tool analyzes information about your network connectivity to help you troubleshoot network-related problems with your computer.

The purpose of this network diagnostics tools is helping you troubleshooting some most common connection problems that you may encounter in a home networking environment.
Network Diagnostics for Windows XP tool analyzes the following tests:

- Default gateway test
- Winsock test
- DNS test
- Firewall test
- Internet connectivity validation test
My note
A simple application can test my network connectivity plus more the network diagnostics tools is totally free. no harm for trying. Perhaps this tools is more suitable for network geeks.
