Ive always been a gooroo with windows optimization Tweak UI has been in my control panel since the early 9x platforms Iv'e been using this little gem on my wifes lappy with vista home premium for about a month and even after all my standard tweak she noticed a considerable different after just a short session telecommuting one day. This is well worth your time make sure to read each section carefully as not to confuse yourself resulting in anger and dismay!

terrible.

1/2 the time setting System folders causes the path to simply disappear.

Far to buggy to risk screwing up your registry.

Mark,

I have the same problem with this last version (build 1052)!

Last week I installed TweakVI Ultimate and when starting it I got an error-message saying the TweakVI executable file had a problem and could not continue.

On the website of Totalidea there are 3 solutions: 1. delete/re-install, 2. install Microsoft VB runtime files, 3. format harddisk and re-install Windows Vista.

The first two options didn't work and the 3rd solution is not done (how can the ask me to re-install the whole operation system and ALL other applications?)!

I also reported this bug today. Hopefully they'll come up with a better solution...

I'm using the ultimate version of Tweak VI for Vista. After reporting bugs for Tweak VI for Vista, build 1050, a new build (1052) was put out with more bugs:

1. When inserting Tweak VI password protection and exiting, the program, the program will no longer execute - an immediate main executable error was noted by Vista when attempting to run the program. I could not fix the problem through any of the usual means - disabled UAC, disabled Virus Security Firewall, tried uninstall/ reinstall, tried rebooting, tried running from top level Administrator - nothing worked. I had to uninstall build 1052 and reinstall build 1050 to remove the password protection, than reinstall build 1052.

- I checked the application event viewer log, and here is the error detail that was received:

Faulting application TweakVI.exe, version 1.0.0.1052, time stamp 0x45fe952c, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000,
process id 0x4e4, application start time 0x01c76ea4b77b2d0f.

2. Also, another serious bug. I attempted to use folder protection to restrict access to a folder (not any of the Windows folders). It did
not work (the folder could be still be opened), but it did disable the use of taskmgr.exe. I had to modify the registry to fix.

Reported the bugs already, but thought I'd list them for others that might be using the program or thinking of using the program.
