Windows Live Translator is a new free online automatic translation service recently launched by Microsoft that will now compete with Google Translate Tool. It is powered by Systran.

Windows Live Translator offers translation services of web pages and written text. Text translation is limited to 500 words. You can translate from English to German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

When you translate the entire web page, Windows Live Translator gives you an option to view the translated page in four different views, Side by side, Top/Bottom, Original with Hover translation, and Translation with Hover original. Compared to Google Translate Tool, it has a prettier look but the translation speed is much slower.

The service is till in Beta and we hope Microsoft will improve the speed and add more features to make the service better.
