Luminotes logoLuminotes is an open source WYSIWYG personal wiki notebook to create and manage a collection of interconnected notes for brainstorming, keeping track of appointments and more.

quote_leftLuminotes is a WYSIWYG personal wiki notebook for organizing your notes and ideas. You don’t have to use any special markup codes or install any software. You simply start typing. quote_right

With Luminotes, you can create a wiki as easy as writing a document, without having to use any special markup codes or switch to a separate edit mode. You can attach files from your desktop computer to your wiki, and then download them anytime, anywhere. This is great for documents, images, and even videos. You can connect your thoughts with links between notes on the same web page or links to a file, so you can easily get a big-picture view of what you’re working on. You can also share your thought with your friends and colleagues, and also invite them to collaborate.

Luminotes

Luminotes is free, but you can upgrade for additional storage space and get notebook sharing and collaboration features. You can check it out the Luminotes Tour. For more detailed information, visit the Luminotes User Guide.

Open Source Software

  • Tim

How exactly is this open source????? Talk about blatant misleading.

  • Maus

It is free; there’s a link at the page for “source code” where you can download the whole package for free.

Now, their system requirements are such that you’ll never find web hosting outside of paying for your own dedicated server, but that’s besides the point. ;P

It looks really, really good. My problem is I wanted a simple wiki that a community of 2000 could use. They don’t support that number of users in their hosted solution (and if they did, I’m sure I couldn’t afford it since they charge $99/mo for just 30 users), and I can’t use any of my current web hosts that I use for my other sites because of their steep system requirements. :-P Oh well. I’ll have to find a second best choice.
