Most of us like to be in “Invisible Mode” in IM to avoid interruption while talking to the people of our convenience. Gmail Chat has added a new status, “Invisible Mode“, that let you switch yourself from visible to invisible. Now you can set yourself invisible in GMail chat, you can see your contacts are online and chat with them, but they won’t be able to see you’re online.

Google Talk(the desktop application) doesn’t have this new feature yet. You cannot switch yourself to invisible if you are logged in using another gadget or desktop Gmail Client.

This new feature works in the new version of Gmail on Firefox 2 and IE7.
