ADVERTISEMENTS
Google Reader, Google’s web-based RSS Aggregator, has had a re-design and I am impressed. I love the ‘Expanded’ view, it automatically marks items as ‘read’ as you scroll. It now has a look n’ feel very much like Gmail. Mihai Parparita from Google Reader created a Greasemonkey script that adds a new link in Gmail: Feeds. Previously i used this version, it is certainly good.
Now i’s using this new Greasemonkey script from Winston, it is better in many ways. It features a split-window view of your Gmail and Google reader on the same page (Gmail on top, Reader on bottom), adds a new link in Gmail: Reader.
Features
- Spilt-window view of Gmail and Reader on a single page
- Links to collapse|expand either Gmail or Reader
- Integrated Reader uses start-page as specified in Reader’s “Settingsâ€
- Labels selector
- Key ‘v’ to open Reader links in a new Window
- Automatic resize of Gmail and Reader views
Installation Instructions
- Install Greasemonkey Extension
- Once you restart your browser, select the Tools menu. You should see three new menu items: Install User Script…, Manage User Scripts…, and User Script Commands.
- Click on THE SCRIPT (gmailreaderintegrator.user.js)
- Click “Installâ€
- Open Gmail and ENJOY!

If you’re already using the previous version of Gmail / Reader integration script, don’t forget to disable it before installing this version.

For a while (in my RSS reader) the title made me feel that, Google had generically implemented it
