IMAware is an application to scan and detect Instant Messaging (IM) programs and reports the finding to you. IMAware is intend for parents and businesses to know exactly what instant messengers are installed on their children’s computer.

IMAware can detect the following instant messengers: AOL Instant Messenger, Gaim, Google Talk, ICQ, Miranda IM, MSN / Windows Live Messenger, mIRC, MySpace IM, Paltalk, Pidgin, Skype, Trillian, Vypress Chat, Windows Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger.

The scan result will show version number, whether or not it is currently running on the computer, and location of each instant messenger found. You can run the instant messenger or open it’s installation folder by right-clicking on the result list.

IMAware can cannot detect web-based instant messengers because they are not installed on your computer. IMAware is a freeware, you can download it from here.
