Google launched a new Google Talk feature called Chatback that lets visitors to your web site chat with you. Chatback allows your visitors to chat with you, provided you’re logged into Google Talk at the time.

To use Chatback, you must have a Google Talk account. You can create a Google Talk Chatback badge here, then copy and paste the code into your blog or website. The live chat badge will display your online status (whether you’re available to chat or not) along with your status message. People who visit your web page will be able to chat with you whenever you’re signed in to Google Talk. The live chat is one-to-one, and you can talk to more than one person at a time.

Chatback uses the web-based Google Talk Gadget so your visitors don’t need to download or install anything. It opens in a new window so they can keep chatting with you even if they browse to other pages.
