Google SpreadSheet features update

  ADVERTISEMENTS

Google has added new features on Google spreadsheet. On the new features, You can see Google spreadsheet has preloaded with your Gmail’s contact and provide you with easy ‘type-ahead’ access to their e-mail addresses and names for invitation.

Now, you can make a public spreadsheet document under read only mode that visible or readable by everyone.

If you want anyone(*) to be able to view your spreadsheet without having to invite them specifically, you can use this checkbox setting (on the Sharing Options pane) to provide virtually open access.
however, (*)viewers will still need to be logged into their google account. Viewers using this link will still see changes in real-time and will be able to participate in chat.

The access on one spreadsheet also has been changed up to 50 people at any one time may now edit or view any single spreadsheet. Beside that, Google has two new export formatsfeatures like PDF and Open Document Format (ODS).

Google Spread file menu

You can enjoys the print option available in the File menu. The import file size limit has been to is now 1 MB for XLS and ODS files.

While we still limit rows (10,000), columns (256), and cells (50,000), and sheets (20), we now allow larger file sizes to be imported (up to approximately 1 Mb in .xls or .odf format).

My note

It is good that see Google updates features has been improve but this new version seem like less stable (it crashed IE and Firefox often). Plus more when Google spreadsheet will offer chart services ?

    Hi,
I just want to let you know that I added Google Spreadsheet import capabilities to my Firefox extension DataAnalytics. It allows the user to manipulate the data and make charts. Right now it’s pretty limited and rather hard to do, but that will change in the future. If you have time to review it I would like to know your opinion. Thanks.
