Google Pack, A collection of application that recommended by Google has included a new application call ” StarOffice”. StarOffice is a office productivity suite which consider as alternative office productivity tools to Microsoft office and this office suite software is developed by SUN microsystem. Meanwhile, You can get the StarOffice for free of cost while this StarOffice office suite normally cost $70 when you purchase.

But, it’s pretty wired why Google doesn’t choose OpenOffice since the OpenOffice is more popular than StarOffice and OpenOffice is uses the StarOffice source code as its foundation. However, Both StarOffice and OpenOffice are pretty much the same, except for some proprietary elements like templates, fonts, cliparts and other Microsoft Office Migration tools available in StarOffice. Meanwhile, the GooglePack StarOffice also support or integrate for most Microsoft Office formats, except for the formats introduced in Office 2007.
Beside GooglePack StarOffice includes word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing and database, Google also includes additional application like Google search (search the web and your documents within StarOffice) and integrates with Google Desktop (all your documents are automatically indexed for search) on StarOffice.
However, This GooglePack StarOffice moves has explore more integration chances in future which in future, You can create a document offline and save the document office online either Google Docs or Spreadsheet.
