The famous file sharing hosting, Rapidshare.de has launches another sister site call Rapidshare.com. Both of these site having the same web interface and similar task like hosting your files online. But both of them differ in terms of running on different server. This mean account on Rapidshare.de can’t be login to rapidshare.com or Rapidshare.com can’t be login to rapidshare.de .
As Rapidshare AG says they are moving to Rapidshare.com because the disk space on RapidShare.de drives is exhausted. But i think disk space is not the main issues. Anyway, if you already a RapidShare.DE member, now you can enjoyed getting a FREE RapidShare.COM Premium account.
Here is some simple step to be follow to get an rapidshare.com free premium account:-
- Login to your Rapidshare.de premium account. There is date mentioned when your account will expire. Between brackets there’s a number. Copy/write down that number.
- Goto http://rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/promo.cgi ( Rapidshare.com premium promotion ) and paste the Rapidshare.de number that you just copied.
- Now you get new login name/number and pass. The free RapidShare.COM premium account will have the same expired date as your RapidShare.DE account.

I just renewed my .de account with points accrued. I tried to log into .com this morning and it tells me that I am expired (as of Nov 3, which is the date my .de account expires).
So will we now have to pay for two rapidshare services? If we are premium at .de we will still have to pay at .com??

I’m sort of internet ignorant, so I’ll apologize ahead of time.
I did check out the free Rapidshare and that is a completely frustrating experience when I received links from a couple of newgroups on Rapidshare.
That led to the timer experience. It was like being on Final Jeopardy with no music as I waited for the file to download. People talked about having to split files and things like that. I don’t understand much of it. I just know it was completely aggravating and I just ignored any of the Rapidshare links after that.
I read about a free site http://www.mediafire.com which allows the sharing of large files supposedly for free and I did download one file from them without problem. I am wondering if anyone else has checked this out and what you, the more experienced, feel its potential is.

Can someone help me with a few questions on Rapidshare?
I have been a premium member there for almost a year at Rapidshare.de
Long story short, I couldnt upload anymore and all new links that came my way were for Rapidshare.com..
When I emailed them, I was told they are two seperate companies and I cant log into .com with a .de account. They made it sound as though I needed to buy another account. I was furious!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I am a member of many yahoo groups, I sent through an email to alert people, and asked that they forward my email to other groups too. TWO days later, they posted something about signing into the .com site with your .de info and you will get a free account..
I have not idea if this was due to my emails and mass contacting people or not, but I know they got emails for hundreds of angry subscribers.
Now I read today, that the account will expire when your .de expires and if you extend on .de, you will not be extended on their new .com site..
Sooooooooooooooo.. One site you cant upload, and the other site I cant download with one click.. which is my next question for help..
On the old .de site, there was a way to bypass that first page, where it asks if you want Premium or Free download..
My Flashget would snag the download automatically after I clicked on a link ( providing the link had not been removed by rapidshare)
Now all the links I get for rapidshare.com, when I click on them, I get that annoying page asking me scroll down to proceed. Then I have to pick Premium, then it goes to another page and ONLY then can I click for Flashget to download.
This would not be a big deal it was only 1 file to download, but sometimes its for 10 or more files to get one thing. What a pain that is to sit and have to click each file 1 at a time, get past that screen and click again to add to Flashget.
I read where it says 1 CLICK for premium users, but HOW????? I also cant find anywhere to email anyone at the new site.. When I email the old site, I get a generated response back.
Im so pissed at Rapidshare right now.. Why pay at one site if you cant upload… And why pay at the other site, if downloads are a pain to get? Plus all the points aquired at .de will be deleted if you I dont keep extending the membership.
I guess because they are not in this country, they can get a way with something like this. I have tried to find help on the web and ended up here. I hope someone can help me with my question.
Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of that damn first page so I can click and know that the program is downloading in Flashget? I would really appreciate the help!!!

You know Rapidshare only works because we give them something free to sell. All our uploaded files……. I have been caught in their trap by their splitting themselves into two Companies. When my renewal came up I elected to go with the .com site. But I admit that I am not impressed with the new system of downloading on the Premier Site. I was using RapGet (a top free program) to paste the files into and using that to download each file one after another. That no londer works, their own program RapidGet also will not work it seems to only want to work on the .de site. It is to long and time comsuming to cut & past a stack of files this new way.
Its sad when people use people to build themselves up, supply a nice service (even though it was a business) as then shaft everyone. They might find out too late after they lose their customer base that they have gone the wrong way about this.
At the end of this current account I will not renew, I think that there is too many others coming onto the scene that will supply a simular service.
Thanks for reading my little rant, I know that it isn’t going to do any good as they will do to us what they to and as far as they are concerned if you don’t like it go elswhere. There is still hundred of thousands new ones that we will draw in before it will affect us.

a) No-one will give an account for free
b) Don’t give your email address, even if it’s rarely used! Do you know how many email addresses are in this page?
c) Don’t download the links saying that they contain free accounts. This is just another way for people who have accounts to extend them. Why? Read this (From FAQ of Rapidshare.com):

All these premium account are fake. I downloaded all of them and none of them worked. Uploaders are just trying to collect points in order to extend their accoutns. Come to think of the fact that A PLAIN TEXT file will never be 1MB. They make their files >1MB because rapidshare gives them premium points only if someone download files that are >1MB.
Don’t waste your time and effort.
However,I know human’s natural greed makes you download that fake files.

Everyone,
Please be careful in downloading files that are saying to have free rapidshare accounts. This is a trick used by the uploaders to get points from your downloads. When they get enough points, they may be able to get a rapidshare account. If rapidshare accounts are just logins and passwords, why do those files have to be >1MB, some go as large as 6MB+, what are people putting in there?
For those that are doing this behavior, does it help other people or does it frustrate other people?
