    How about the performance.I dont like these tools for just one reason it kills the system when it starts indexing.

    Google desktop and msn desktop search bot have this problem.Its very heavy

    Yes it slightly slow down the computer, this is because Google Desktop not only indexes them, it caches file content each time you save.
