FasterFox 2.0.0 is a Firefox add-on that applies a variety of performance and network tweaks to improve rendering speed and network performance. Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay.

This Fasterfox “pre-fetches†is the silent downloading of links in the background, so that if the user were to click on a link it would load much faster. Fasterfox’s prefetching mechanism may be more convenient for viewer, but is a major problem for many low bandwidth webmasters because Fasterfox constantly requests new files, it can cause many servers to overload.

Fasterfox is in fact getting more and more popular now days. A lot of Firefox users find this add-on very useful especially for their low bandwidth connection. It is very noticeable difference in term of speed while surfing the web but loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing is a waste of bandwidth and waste of disk space. Fasterfox is love by users, but hate by webmaster of killing their bandwidth.
