ERUNT (The Emergency Recovery Utility for NT) is a free registry backup and restore program for Windows. It helps you perform a complete Registry Backup and Restore for Windows NT/2000/2003/XP. You can backup the registry to a folder of your choice. System and current user registries selectable. Command line switches for automated registry backup and restoration. Restore the registry in Windows and MS-DOS. Included in the package: NTREGOPT program for optimizing the registry.
Added features in this ERUNT version 1.1j:
- Fixed compatibility issues with 64-bit Windows
- Enhanced error messages
- AutoBackup now supports all date formats
- ERUNT.INI: “TimeSeparator” fixed; “DefaultDestinationFolder” now supports all environment variables (previously only %SystemRoot% could be used)
- ERDNT now displays the source Windows folder in addition to the backup’s creation date

ERUNT is a small and efficient tool which does not have any complicated settings. Remember to checked both “System Registry” and “Current User Registry” when backup registry. System Registry consisting of the files DEFAULT, SAM, SECURITY, SOFTWARE, and SYSTEM. Current User Registry is files for the currently logged-on user such as NTUSER.DAT and USRCLASS.DAT. Both this registries are the most important parts in every Windows system.
