The Firefox 2 beta 2 is now available for download at Mozilla. Firefox has been my favourite web browser since it was released Firefox 2 Version 1. But Firefox 2 beta 2 come with surprising number of changes since beta 1.

Here is some of the interest features on Firefox 2 beta 2 that i like :-

• Built-in phishing protection - Phishing is a big problem on the internet and everything that is able to stop this is welcome. Phishing Protection is turned on by default, and works by checking sites against either a local or online list of known phishing sites. This is not fully implemented yet.
• Enhanced search capabilities: Search term suggestions will now appear as users type in the integrated search box when using the Google, Yahoo! or Answers.com search engines.
• Resuming your browsing session: The Session Restore feature restores windows, tabs, text typed in forms, and in-progress downloads from the last user session.
• Previewing and subscribing to Web feeds: Users can decide how to handle Web feeds.
• Inline spell checking: Finally a spell checker built into firefox.

The new Firefox 2 Beta 2 is supporting Windows, Mac and Linux platform.

your old extensions won’t work with Firefox 2–out of the box. But you can make most of them work using the Nightly Tester Tools extension. There are other methods, but I’ve found Nightly Tester Tools to be the simplest and most reliable.
