ADVERTISEMENTS
Windows user might experience WGA (windows genuine advantage) checking when downloading software from Microsoft website. This validation process occur because Microsoft plant small application on your computer that contacts the Microsoft server and checks for validity of your windows. If the validation test fails, you will not able to download the file(s).
Anyway, Ghacks provide a nice trick to overcome this validation test. Here is the trick:-
Download and start mgadiag.exe tools, later check out the value of the Download Center Code, this code should consist of seven chars upper case letters and number. Remember that code and open the website of the file that you want to download. The download links will looks similiar like download Internet Explorer 7.
All you need just appends the following value to the url and you will be able to download the file without a WGA check.
&Hash=download center code
This Download center code changes frequently, make sure you have the correct code before starting the downloads.
Here is the short step
- Download mgadiag.exe
- start mgadiag.exe and look at the download center code
- visit a download page at microsoft.com
- append &Hash=download center code to the url
- Hit enter
My Note
This trick perhaps will works shortly only. i think Microsoft is probably going to fix this soon.
