To keep you file system consistent and maintain peak performance, you have to defrag your system regularly. Defraggler is a file defragmentation tool that helps you defrag your files, folders or drives easily.
Defraggler lets you Analyze and Defragment your disk. The Analyze process will examine the condition of the disk you have selected, and display the result in visual map represents the disk and also let you know which files are fragmented. Defragment process will locate the fragments of each file on the disk and copy them contiguously to a new location.
Just like Windows Disk Defragmenter, Defraggler also uses color-code to differentiate file types and free space on the disk volume. (Red for fragmented files, Blue for contiguous files, Green for reserved MFT space, Yellow for Paging File, and White for empty space).
Defraggler features:
- Defrag Individual Files – Defraggler gives you the power to select individual files and folders to defrag. So you can get the job done in seconds, rather than waiting for the whole drive to complete. Of course if you want to defrag the whole drive Defraggler will let you do that too.
- Compact and Portable – Defraggler is using the same compact architecture as CCleaner and Recuva. Defraggler can be copied into a thumbdrive for use whenever you need it, without installation.
- Support Windows Vista – Defraggler supports both NTFS and FAT32 file systems of Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista.
- Locate Files on the Drive – After analysis Defraggler lists all the fragmented files on the drive. Selecting one or many will highlight their location on the disk. Allowing you to visually see the location of files on the disk.
