CodecInstaller is a free Windows program that scans and detects the Audio and Video codecs installed on your computer, analyzes files to understand which codecs they require and suggests you to download and install the missing codecs from the Internet.

CodecInstaller Features:

• Codec Detection- It scans and displays the codecs installed on your computer into 3 tabs (Audio, Video, and Others). It also shows the information of the codec such as name, company, version, driver, creation date, copyright, size…
• Analyse File – It can analyze the most popular video and audio formats including avi, mpeg, wmv, wma, ogg, flac, mpc, mp3, mp4, wav and wx media files. It will also show some technical details such as duration, bitrate, framerate, ratio, size, metadata…
• Download Codec – can easily select and download a codec from the list. It will shows you if the selected codec is already installed in your computer.
• Movie Playback – It is disabled by default. You can activate this function by configure the CodecList.txt, add the movie file, and a text file with the movie information. You can refer to the example in the CodecInstaller installation path (C:\Program Files\JockerSoft\CodecInstaller\example).

CodecInstaller is a freeware application for Windows XP and Vista. You can download the latest version of CodecInstaller from the Download page. It is available in English, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Turkish.

CodecInstaller requires Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 to run.
