TypoGenerator is a random generator for ‘typo posters’ created from overlayed images and letters/text that doesnt have any sense, just to look good.

TypoGenerator uses images found by images.google to create a background image with the text enter by user using random effects.

APNG Edit - Animated PNG Editor for Firefox 3

APNG Edit is a cross platform program for making animated PNGs. APNG Edit can create animation by assembling individual (per-frame) images, or by running a user-created script to render each frame in a Canvas tag.

APNG (Animated PNG) is an extension to PNG that supports for animated images to replace the traditionally used animated GIFs. APNG edit is the first APNG editor extension created for Firefox 3. It is currently still a beta, but it does produce valid APNG files.

APNG Edit features:

Load each frame from any PNG file
Set loop control (play forever, once, X times)
Optionally set the first frame (displayed in older browsers) to be hidden in newer browsers.
For each frame:
- Set the offset of the frame from the top-left corner of the animation
- Set the time to display
- Set disposal options (clear image, keep image, revert frame)

APNG Edit does not work on Firefox 2, you will need to download the alpha version of Firefox 3 to enjoy the new feature of Firefox 3. YSlow - Speed Up Your Web Pages

YSlow is a Firefox add-on integrated with the popular Firebug web development tool from the Yahoo!’s Exceptional Performance team which provides improved performance measurement tools and optimization advice.

YSlow analyzes the page’s components, including downloaded components, using advanced techniques and tells you why they’re slow based on Yahoo’s 13 identified basic rules for high performance web sites.

To run YSlow, select Performance, Stats, or Components, or right-click YSlow in the status bar. When YSlow analyzes the page, the Firebug window displays the Performance view, and the status bar at the bottom of the window displays the overall grade for the page, and its size.

How YSlow works:

YSlow crawls the DOM to find all the components (images, scripts, stylesheets, etc.) in the page.
YSlow gets information about each component: size, whether it was gzipped, Expires header, etc. YSlow gets this information from Firebug’s Net panel if it’s available. If the component’s information is not available from Net panel (for example, the component was read from cache or it had a 304 response) YSlow makes an XMLHttpRequest to fetch the component and track its headers and other necessary information.
YSlow takes all this data about the page and generates a grade for each rule, which produces the overall grade.

YSlow gives you:

HTTP/HTML summary
List of components in the page

With YSlow, you can:

Build faster web pages
Reduce your end-user response times
Get the most potential for improvement by focusing on the front-end

YSlow also allows you to view results from the Performance, Stats, and Components views in printer friendly format.

You must install Firebug in order to use YSlow. Once Firebug is installed, download YSlow from http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow and follow the prompts to install it. RobotReplay - Record and Watch Your Users Intereact with the Internet

RobotReplay is an online service that records and plays back visitor sessions for nearly any website, corporate site or blog by inserting a small Java script file.

RobotReplay records visitor sessions on every mouse movement and click, keystroke, where users click, how far down the page they scroll, how long they stay on a site and then lets you watch your visitors actions as a movie.

RobotReplay complements existing web analytics tools like Google Analytics, StatCounter or ClickTracks, and generates little ‘movies’. We merged ‘cinema’ and ‘analytics’ and got ‘cinelytics’.

The idea behind RobotReplay is that website owners can see first hand how people are using their site and this will help them organize their site content to improve usability. But website visitors are not aware they are being recorded unless the site owner decides to disclose that information to them.

I guess this RobotReplay will make most website visitors a little uncomfortable. I think RobotReplay will make the best use for web development debugging purposes. This of course helps developers understand how users generate errors, and where they have to improve. What do you think?
