BananaScreen works with a simple webcam. It capture your facial feature to build a statistical representation of the face. No picture is stored on your harddrive (or anywhere else) but only your face model (binary format). When the webcam captures an image for verification or identification, it processes the data and compares it with your face model.

To use, create a face model with BananaScreen. Then configure BananaScreen to lock after a certain amount of inactive time. You can also press Alt-L to lock at any time. Once locked, BananaScreen will keep an eye on faces coming and going in front of the webcam. When you come back, it will immediately unlocks your computer after identifying your face. If your facial login doesn’t work, you can still use your login password.
