The largest Chinese language search engine Baidu has announced its plans to launch a new chat/instant messaging service, called “Baidu Hi” which would compete with existing services in the market like Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Live Messenger, AIM and ICQ.

Baidu Hi has been in development for a year and it is expending the development team to complete the Baidu Hi. Baidu Hi is currently in the internal testing stage. Only Baidu employees who have submitted applications through internal networks can get approval to download. No launch date for Baidu Hi service yet.
