Aniboom ShapeShifter is a free, online shape shifting animation application which lets you animate your own “shape shifted” frame by frame sequence.

With ShapeShifter, you can create frame by frame animation through the use of black and white geometric shapes. The geometric shapes can be manipulated so that you can change their size, angle, and placement in reference to the other chosen shapes, allowing you to create an animated character or image of your choice.

After creating the image you can add sound, save your creation on the website, and send the URL link to your friends. You can also receive ratings from the other viewers. All this can be done online without having to download the application onto your computer.

I’ve played with this ShapeShifter all morning, it is really not easy to transform the geometric shapes into animation. The hardest part is creating multiple frames of images and each frame represents a unit of movement. ShapeShifter is a great tool to create short animated films, all you need is patience and creativity.
