ADVERTISEMENTS
AfterVote is a social meta search engine originally called Younanimous. AfterVote is a meta search engine combining the top results of Google, Yahoo or MSN. The advantages of combining search results are fairly obvious, 3 heads are better than one.
What makes AfterVote different from other search engine is the ranking system they use. AfterVote rank their results according to Alexa Rank, Google PR, StumbleUpon, Yahoo, MSN Live and many more.
AfterVote(Younanimous) is a new twist on a old idea. For years now, sites have existed as “meta search engines” which would search Google, Yahoo and MSN. The problem with these search engines is that they were unbearably slow, as they had to query Google, Yahoo, and MSN before they had anything to display.
Enter AfterVote(Younanimous): With an AJAX backbone, YOU Search Google, MSN, and Yahoo and let us know what you found and then we rank them for you, while providing additional detail about each result such as Alexa ranking, Google Pagerank, domain age and much more.

There are 3 search levels of AfterVote:
- Beginner Level
- Intermediate Level
- Advanced Level
AfterVote will remember your “level” the next time you visit the site. You can select “Search Level” at any time and pick another option.

You can see how AfterVote’s results compare to Google, Yahoo or MSN by clicking their respective icons and instantly see how their results would be displayed.
Search results can be upvoted (or bookmarked) or downvoted (or blacklisted) for future searches. Within the search results page you can submit the result directly to Digg or del.icio.us, email the result, translate the page, view BugMeNot login details for sites, or use the WayBack machine on a result. You can automatically see its page ranking on the various search engines and its Alexa ranking.
This is a great way to find what you are looking for with so many more tools and so much more precision than the basic search engine. For more information on AfterVote, you can read about it here.
