Google Maps has been introduce remarkable 3D building features which bring closer to Google earth. This features allow view the 3D building from one angle and general heights and dimension but still it can’t rotate the view on 3D building. This 3D building view has cover 35 cities in the U.S. and Japan, and gives a bit more perspective for users without having to switch over to Google Earth’s satellite map view.

Frank Taylor from Google Earth Blog says: I believe these buildings are directly coming from those old “gray 3D buildings Google has had in Google Earth since it was released back in June 2005. Now that I think about it, I’m kind of surprised Google didn’t implement this 2.5D version of the buildings in Google Maps sooner
Anyway, I wonder is there any button to change Google map without 3D building. However, This 3D building features has been a great features to closer the gap of Google earth and the API for this 3D building on Google map version is not yet available. But i believe in future will be available for Maps development.
